World of Goo 2 has been postponed

World of Goo, along with Braid and Super Meat Boy, is one of the earliest truly popular indie games. And while it’s not a title that was in dire need of a sequel, 2D Boy Studios has officially announced a sequel in 2023. The launch will have to wait longer than planned, however.

World of Goo 2 will not be released on May 23 as planned, with a new release date set for August 2. The game will be available on PC (via the Epic Games Store) and Switch.

Remember that the original World of Goo was released in October 2008. At first, the developers said they had no plans to create a sequel, but in 2010, game designer Kyle Gaebler expressed his desire to work on a second installment.
