Nvidia introduces a time limit for playing GeForce Now starting in 2025

Nvidia has announced that starting in 2025, its GeForce Now streaming game service will have a usage time limit for players. Under the new policy, users will be able to play no more than 100 hours per month on paid plans.
Details of the New Restriction
The 100-hour limit will affect subscribers of the Performance ($9.99/month) and Ultimate ($19.99/month) plans. Both plans provide high-quality game streaming: Performance supports 1440p and ray tracing, while Ultimate offers 4K 120fps or 1080p 240fps, HDR, ray tracing, and extended sessions of up to 8 hours.
Performance
Nvidia noted: “We are introducing a monthly limit of 100 hours to maintain high quality, speed and reduce queues for Performance and Ultimate plan users. This limit fully meets the needs of the 94% of our users who, on average, fall within this limit.”
In addition, up to 15 hours of unused time will automatically carry over to the next month, which can increase available time to 115 hours. If a player exceeds the limit, they will be able to purchase an additional 15 hours: $2.99 for Performance and $5.99 for Ultimate.

Exceptions and Transition Period
For existing subscribers who signed up for a paid subscription before December 31, 2024, the restriction will not begin to take effect until January 2026, provided the account is active and not terminated. Users with a Founders subscription will continue to have unlimited game time for life, but will also be subject to the new rules when they upgrade their subscription (e.g. to the Ultimate plan).
Free users of the service, who are limited to one play session per hour and are subject to waiting in line, are unaffected by the new restriction.

These changes are aimed at improving the quality and stability of the service for most users, though they add a new level of control for gamers actively using GeForce Now.
