Final Fantasy XIV will get a new Dawntrail add-on

The next Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Dawntrail, was announced at the Fan Fest event in Las Vegas. The fifth major expansion for Square Enix’s popular MMO will be released this summer, company director Naoki Yoshida said during a keynote on Friday.

The action of Dawntrail is set on Eorzea’s New World tropical island, which Yoshida described as «a beach vacation» for players. Dawntrail will also feature a new hub city, Tuliollal, a level cap increase, new quests, dungeons, enemies, gear, recipes and more. In addition, the 7.0 patch will improve the game’s graphics.

On Friday, Square Enix also announced additional content for the free trial version of Final Fantasy XIV, which will add everything from Heavensward to the beginning of Shadowbringers to the game.
