Death Stranding 2 will get a live premiere at Summer Game Fest
By ForGeeks It’s officially confirmed: there will be a special event at Summer Game Fest to celebrate the release of Death Stranding 2. The presentation will take place at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, will be hosted by Jeff Keely, and will be streamed online.
Hideo Kojima himself will be in attendance. There will be a panel discussion with invited guests, as well as an exclusive live gameplay demo.
Limited registration is available for those wishing to attend the event. The rest of us can watch the live stream on the official PlayStation YouTube channel. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm PT / 10:00pm ET / 3:00am BST.
The event will also be the first leg of the World Strand Tour celebrating the game’s release. After kicking off in Los Angeles, the tour will cover 12 cities including Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, London, Seoul, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Riyadh, Sao Paulo, and conclude in Lucca, Italy in November.
Special activities and guests are planned in each city, but it’s not yet known if the lineup will be permanent, including Hideo Kojima’s presence.
In addition to the tour itself, last month PlayStation confirmed the release of a special Death Stranding-inspired DualSense controller, which will be released on the same day as the game – June 26.

VGC journalists recently visited Kojima Productions in Tokyo to check out the game and talk to the development team, including Kojima himself. In their preview, they wrote: “When I took the guard off the tower with a silencer and began stealthily infiltrating the camp to rescue the prisoner, it was impossible not to think, ‘Oh, this is just like Metal Gear.'”
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach comes out June 26 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
