An updated Alexa won’t be available until March at the earliest

In early February, Amazon had planned to unveil an updated version of Alexa that would be powered by artificial intelligence. But as it turns out, the company isn’t ready for such a breakthrough just yet. According to The Washington Post, Amazon doesn’t plan to launch an AI-powered update to Alexa for at least a month after its February 26 announcement. The delay appears to be due to the fact that the updated assistant has had trouble providing accurate answers to test questions.
An update to Alexa’s AI-enabled Alexa is not expected to launch until at least a month after its announcement on Feb. 26.

This news of the delay comes after months of rumors that Amazon was having trouble implementing its plans to «update» Alexa with AI. Those plans were supposed to be implemented in 2023, but have yet to materialize. The launch has reportedly been pushed back to late 2024 due to feedback from beta testers that the assistant’s responses were slow, clunky and of little use.
