Garmin unveiled the Vivoactive 6 with AMOLED screen and sleep tracking

Garmin is expanding its sports watch lineup with a new model Vivoactive 6. The device has significant improvements over the previous generation, including new metrics for runners, an advanced smart alarm, and a refined AMOLED display. The watch remains affordable and is aimed at those looking for the most features in one gadget.

Display and design: compact, bright, convenient

Vivoactive 6 features 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390×390 pixels. The screen is brighter, providing better readability on the street. The watch is housed in a case with aluminum bezel and silicone strap, available in only one size – 42 mm. This makes the model comfortable for both sports and everyday wear.

Autonomy is impressive: up to 11 days in smartwatch mode and up to 21 hours with active GPS, more than enough for marathon training and long hikes.

Smart alarm clock and advanced running features

One of the key new features is the smart wake-up function. The watch tracks sleep phases and gently vibrates to wake the wearer up during a light sleep phase. This allows you to wake up without the stress and feeling of a “broken” morning.

New running tools have also been added, including Running Dynamics and Running Power with support for PacePro technology -a system that helps you maintain the right pace throughout your run, given your route profile. These features were previously available only in more expensive Garmin models, and now they’ve made their way to Vivoactive.

Price and Competitors

The Garmin Vivoactive 6 costs $299.99, making it more affordable than the Apple Watch Series 10, while competing successfully with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 in terms of functionality.

The launch of the Vivoactive 6 also follows the recent release of the Garmin Enduro 3 in India, signaling the company’s commitment to aggressively expand its portfolio in 2024 and go global with solutions for different user segments.
