Garmin Fenix 8 Pro has become the world’s most colorful smartwatch

Garmin has officially unveiled the Fenix 8 Pro series, which has received its biggest update in years. For the first time, the smartwatch features MicroLED display and adds support for LTE and satellite connectivity via inReach technology.

MicroLED display with record-breaking brightness

The main feature of the Fenix 8 Pro is that it’s the world’s first smartwatch with MicroLED screen. The top-of-the-line 51mm version features a 1.4-inch panel that delivers up to 4500 nits of brightness thanks to more than 400,000 individual LEDs.

The screen supports full color display and ultra-wide viewing angles, remaining readable even in direct sunlight. For users who are more concerned about battery life, AMOLED versions are available with up to 27 days in smartwatch mode.

Design and protection

The Fenix 8 Pro’s case meets military standards for durability. The MicroLED model gets sapphire crystal, a titanium caseback and a DLC-titanium bezel. The watch can withstand water pressure up to 10 ATM and supports recreational diving to a depth of 40 meters.

For convenience, a built-in LED flashlight has been added, and the pushpieces are induction-designed to protect against spills.

Communication and Navigation

Garmin Fenix 8 Pro features LTE support, allowing you to call and text directly from the watch. You can make calls using the Messenger Calls app, and the LiveTrack feature lets loved ones track your location in real time.

With Garmin inReach two-way satellite messaging, check-ins and SOS alerts are available. An active Garmin subscription is required for all LTE and satellite features to work.

On the navigation side, the watch offers preloaded maps (TopoActive, golf, ski and hiking trails), turn-by-turn directions and SatIQ technology that balances the accuracy of multi-band GPS with power consumption.
