Casio announces G-Shock Mudmaster inspired by Dakar rally night stages

Casio has unveiled the new G-Shock GWG-B1000TLC-1A Mudmaster, a rugged timepiece created in collaboration with Team Land Cruiser Toyota Auto Body. The design takes cues from the nighttime stages of the Dakar rally—a race that Toyota Auto Body has competed in annually since 1995. The watch sports an all-black look with a resin band textured like desert dunes, while a golden strap loop symbolizes moonlight over the desert.

The case combines an inner structure made from carbon fiber–reinforced resin with an outer metallic shell finished in ion plating, crafted through precision forging. To ensure readability in challenging conditions, the watch uses sapphire glass and a dual LED backlight. The dial features red, blue, and yellow accents reminiscent of rally car navigation systems, helping you quickly interpret the information even in the dark.

The Mudmaster supports Multiband 6 radio time synchronization and runs on solar power. Bluetooth connectivity enables automatic time adjustments. It houses a triple sensor that measures temperature, altitude, and atmospheric pressure. The electronic compass comes with a Location Indicator function: by setting a destination in the app, the 3 o’clock position on the dial points toward your target—an essential feature for navigation in sandstorms or low visibility.

Alongside three analog hands, there’s a small digital display showing the date and world time. The watch is engineered to withstand shocks, dust, mud, and vibrations, thanks to cylindrical stainless steel button guards, sealed button stems, and a screw-down crown. αGEL material cushions the module on the sides and bottom to absorb shocks effectively.

Team Land Cruiser logos appear on the strap loop, the band itself, and the case back, which features a faceted design inspired by rally cars. The watch comes packaged in a special box made from recycled materials.

The G-Shock GWG-B1000TLC-1A will be available starting February 2026, with a price tag of around $889.
