Audio-Technica introduced the flagship ATH-ADX7000 headphones

Audio-Technica has unveiled its new flagship headphones, the ATH-ADX7000, designed and assembled in Japan. The model is built using HXDT technology, which ensures that all driver elements – diaphragm, magnet, voice coil and attachment plate – are aligned with ultra-precise tolerances of just ±0.02mm. This precision ensures smoother diaphragm movement, improved detail, faster response and natural sound.
The True Open-Air Audio design allows air to flow freely through the cabinet, reducing pressure and resonances. This keeps the sound clear and balanced, even for extended listening sessions. Specially designed drivers for open headphones cover the full frequency range, including the deep bass characteristic of closed models.
The driver features a 490-ohm voice coil, which increases mechanical force and dynamic range without adding weight. Core Mount Technology provides uniform acoustic impedance between the front and rear chambers, stabilizing diaphragm movement at all frequencies.
The ATH-ADX7000 weighs just 275 grams. The casing is made of honeycomb-shaped aluminum and the frame is cast magnesium, making it durable and reducing vibration. High-density velvet or Alcantara ear cushions are available, each with its own acoustics and comfort level.
The kit also includes two cables: a balanced cable with an XLR connector and an unbalanced cable with a 6.3mm plug. Both cables have nylon braided, gold-plated A2DC connectors and Neutrik connectors. A compact storage case is also included.
Audio-Technica ATH-ADX7000 will go on sale in the U.S. and U.K. on October 31 for $3,499 and £3,000 respectively.
