LG announced UltraGear evo series of gaming monitors with AI upscaling and 5K+ resolution
LG Electronics has announced UltraGear evo — a new premium line of gaming monitors that will debut at CES 2026. The series includes three flagship models with 5K resolution and above: the 39GX950B, 27GM950B and 52G930B.
The main feature of all three monitors is the built-in AI system running directly on the device. It provides 5K AI Upscaling — real-time image quality enhancement before the picture is even displayed. This enables near 5K sharpness to be achieved without the need for a more powerful graphics card. The same AI is responsible for optimizing scenes and adjusting sound, making the image and audio more balanced and detailed.
The 39-inch UltraGear GX9 uses a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, which offers increased brightness, color accuracy, and longer lifespan. The 21:9 aspect ratio screen with 1500R curvature retains the vertical height of the 32-inch display, but offers more horizontal space. Pixel density is 142 PPI, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification ensures deep blacks and high detail in dark scenes.
The Dual Mode allows you to switch between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD. Response time reaches 0.03ms (GtG), giving you the choice between maximizing picture quality and competitive speed.
The 27-inch UltraGear GM9 was the world’s first 5K New MiniLED monitor, designed to reduce the ghosting effect common to such panels. It features 2304 zones of localized dimming, and Zero Optical Distance technology reduces the distance between the backlight and matrix, improving contrast and preserving fine detail. Peak brightness reaches 1250 nits, and the monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. Dual Mode — 165Hz at 5K and 330Hz at QHD, with a response time of 1ms is also available here.

The 52-inch UltraGear G9 has become the world’s largest gaming monitor with 5K2K resolution. It runs at 240Hz and combines high performance with high-quality images over a huge screen area. In height, it matches a 42-inch 16:9 display, but stretches to a panoramic 12:9 ratio, providing a workspace 33 percent wider than a standard UHD monitor. The 1000R’s curvature enhances the immersive experience, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification is responsible for rich colors and deep contrast.

LG will showcase the UltraGear evo lineup at CES 2026 in two areas: one will be decorated as «Dream Setup» based on Reddit gaming communities, while the other will showcase the SimCraft racing simulator using the 39-inch GX9. The company also announced that the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B) will go on global sale on the first day of CES 2026.
