Apple wants to add more ads to the iPhone

Bloomberg journalist, Mark Gurman, citing industry sources, suggests that Apple is planning to expand ad integration into the iOS operating system. He also shared information about the anticipated timing and possible formats for ad introductions.

According to an analyst, the introduction of ads in Apple Maps could happen in early 2026. Apple partners will likely be given the option to pay to become more visible in Maps searches. The scheme is likely to resemble the App Store’s model of promotion based on keyword targeting.

It is claimed that Apple will use artificial intelligence to optimize the relevance and usefulness of search results. However, according to the journalist, such an innovation could displease users, who are already expressing fears that the iPhone will turn into a “huge advertising platform” aimed at promoting the company’s own services.

Apple is also expected to use artificial intelligence to optimize the search results.

The ad integration is expected to launch in 2026, allowing Apple to include it in iOS 26.4 or iOS 26.5 updates. There has been no official comment from Apple on this information yet.
