Volkswagen showed the low-cost electric crossover ID.Cross in Munich

At the Munich International Motor Show, Volkswagen has revealed a pre-production version of a new electric-powered subcompact crossover. The model is called the ID.Cross and is positioned as an affordable electric vehicle for the mass market.
Dimensions and platform
The ID.Cross is comparable in size to the Lada XRAY: length – 4161 mm, wheelbase – 2601 mm. The car is based on a front-wheel-drive version of the MEB platform. The electric motor develops an output of 166 kW (226 hp).
Range is claimed to be 420 kilometers on one full charge. The battery capacity has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.


Interior and equipment
The interior is designed in a minimalist style. The panels are finished with wear-resistant fabric in beige color.The technical equipment includes:
- 11-inch digital instrument panel
- a 13-inch multimedia screen;
- maintained row of physical keys for easy operation;




Price and sales launch
Serial production of the Volkswagen ID.Cross will start in 2026. The price in Europe – from 28 thousand euros (about 2.8 million rubles).
