Kia Sportage cars are recalled in Russia

Rosstandart has agreed a voluntary service campaign to recall nearly 80,000 Kia Sportage cars sold on the Russian market in 2010-2015. The recall affects 79,884 vehicles manufactured by the Kia plant in Slovakia and imported to Russia by the official distributor Kia Russia and CIS LLC. The company initiated the recall voluntarily, i.e. without the regulator’s prescription – the identified risk does not exceed the permissible norms.

The reason was the need to replace the HECU unit’s multi-fuse to reduce the rating for improved circuit protection. In addition, service centers will install new fuse box covers. All work will be free of charge to owners. Owners will be notified individually, either by email or phone. You can check whether a particular car falls under the recall on the website of Rosstandart using the VIN number.

In June, Rosstandart announced a recall of more than 55,000 other Kia models – Sorento, Soul and Cerato. The cause was a possible short circuit on the circuit board of the hydraulic electronic control unit installed in the engine compartment.
