The 394-horsepower hybrid Tank 500 Hi-Charge is presented in Russia

Great Wall’s premium Tank brand has introduced the plug-in hybrid Tank 500 Hi-Charge to the Russian market. The new version is the most powerful in the SUV lineup: the hybrid powertrain develops 394 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Sales of the model will start by the end of the third quarter of 2025. The vehicle is currently undergoing certification.
The powertrain includes a two-liter turbo engine and an electric motor placed behind it. Compared to the gasoline-powered Tank 500 Blacktrail with a three-liter V6 engine (354 hp), the hybrid has better dynamics: acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds.
The electric motor is powered by a 37.1-kilowatt-hour traction battery. It can be charged with either AC or DC power. Without starting the gasoline engine, the SUV can travel up to 115 kilometers. Average fuel consumption is 8.4 liters per 100 kilometers. The drive is all-wheel drive with Torque-on-Demand system and three differential locks.
Externally, the hybrid is distinguished by 19-inch wheels of original design. Body dimensions, according to preliminary data, coincide with other versions: length – 5078 mm, width – 1934 mm, height – 1905 mm, wheelbase – 2850 mm. At the same time, the interior of the Hi-Charge version is five-seat – because of the placement of the battery, the third row of seats is not provided.
Equipment includes dual-pane windows, ventilation and massage for all seats, a touchscreen for second-row passengers, power blinds and Nappa leather trim.
A parallel update to the regular Tank 500 is being prepared in China. The model will get a redesigned exterior and a new generation of technology, including the Coffee Pilot Ultra driver assistance system and advanced lidar. It will premiere today.
