Sharp has revealed a car you can live in

Japanese company Sharp, known for its TVs and home appliances, has unveiled a new version of its LDK+ electric minivan concept. The model will premiere at the Japan Mobility Show in late October.

The updated LDK+ is noticeably closer to the production vehicle compared to the first prototype shown in Tokyo in the fall of 2024. The body now has the proportions of a classic minivan, and the design is more expressive, with a wide panel at the front with diode optics. The car is equipped with sliding doors, familiar door handles and traditional rearview mirrors – previously they were replaced by cameras, and handles were hidden in the body.
Sharp envisions the LDK+ to be an “extension of the living room.” Inside, there’s a flat floor, a swiveling driver’s seat, soft lighting, a center console with a fold-down table, and a projector with a screen that slides out over the rear seats. The large 65-inch display that was used in last year’s prototype is absent in the new version.
