Russia’s Atom electric car will have a voice assistant based on generative artificial intelligence. It will be able to work even without an internet connection and maintain a live dialog with the user, the developers said.

Atom’s voice assistant will be based on generative artificial intelligence.

The assistant will control the car’s key functions – climate control, lighting, doors and windows, seat position, mirrors and steering wheel. The system will also be able to find cafes, attractions and other locations, suggesting them as you drive.

The voice assistant is integrated with the vehicle’s own interfaces – the augmented reality screen and steering wheel tablet. It will provide quick access to phone, contacts and radio, as well as being able to analyze the condition of the car and make driving and maintenance recommendations.

The software is being developed by Enbisys, a company specializing in AI-based solutions. According to the developers, the assistant is not limited to pre-recorded phrases, takes into account the context of the dialog, relies on internal and external knowledge, and adapts to the specific user.

Atom has previously passed the first series of crash tests according to international standards. The strength of the body was tested in frontal and side impacts against different types of barriers. Two more stages of testing are ahead: tests for false alarms, rollover resistance and other tests.
