Changan refreshes CS35 Max crossover with turbo engine, prices it at 2,599,900 rubles
Changan has launched the updated CS35 Max in Russia, introducing a turbocharged engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and front-wheel drive, with a starting price set at 2,599,900 rubles.
The base model comes equipped with three in-cabin screens, a rearview camera, and a “winter package” that includes heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, and heating for the front, rear, and side windows. At the same time, Changan has boosted corrosion protection, refreshed the paintwork, and added 115 extra sound-dampening elements-promising to cut cabin noise by up to 50% thanks to enhanced vibration insulation.
Price and trim
The updated CS35 Max starts at 2,599,900 rubles. The base trim includes:
- Three interior screens
- Rearview camera
- Winter package: heated steering wheel, front and rear seats, and heating for front, rear, and side windows
- Turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission
- Front-wheel drive
Dimensions and sound insulation
The CS35 Max’s dimensions have grown: length is up by 210 mm, width by 35 mm, and the wheelbase stretched by 110 mm. Practically, this means more passenger space and improved road stability.
Beyond the added room, engineers focused heavily on comfort. The strengthened corrosion protection and refreshed paint should extend body durability. Meanwhile, the 115 extra soundproofing elements combined with the upgraded vibration insulation reportedly reduce interior noise nearly by half.
With its pricing and features, the CS35 Max slots into the compact crossover segment, going head-to-head with models like the Geely Coolray, Haval Jolion, and Chery Tiggo 4. For buyers in regions with harsh winters, the winter package and enhanced body protection could be decisive selling points. However, rivals also offer similar options and often boast a more active dealer network.
