BMW has unveiled an updated version of its iX electric SUV, which has received significant changes to its design, performance and model range. The new base variant also lowers the entry threshold for buyers.

The refreshed lineup includes three versions: xDrive45, xDrive60 and the top-of-the-line M70 xDrive. The big news is the debut of the xDrive45, starting in Europe at €68,785 – a marked reduction from the previous base price of €79,527. The xDrive60 and M70 xDrive models are priced at €80,816 and €101,544 respectively.

Enhanced efficiency and greater range
BMW has paid special attention to the iX’s energy efficiency. The xDrive45 model now offers up to 502 kilometers of range thanks to a battery with a capacity of 100.1 kW⋅h. The xDrive60 version offers a range of 547 km with a 113.4 kW⋅h battery, and even the high-performance M70 xDrive achieves 486 km with a 112.8 kW⋅h battery.

This efficiency is made possible by modernized drivetrains, the use of silicon carbide semiconductors, and new generations of batteries.
Refreshed design and improved interior
The iX’s exterior has received minimalist changes, with a simplified front grille and upright headlights adding to the car’s understated but modern look. The M70 xDrive version and models with the M Sport package get an integrated diffuser.

In the cabin, the most notable new feature is the circular steering wheel, which replaces the controversial «cropped» shape of the previous generation. The M Sport package includes sport seats with the M logo, an M leather steering wheel, M pedals and a two-tone instrument cluster.

The second-generation BMW iX: market-ready
With updated features, a reduced price and improved design, the BMW iX becomes a more attractive choice. Production starts in March and deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2025.
