Gamescom 2023: everything you need to know

This week marks the most important video game trade show in Europe. Gamescom has been keeping the flame of in-person conferences alive for years, while E3 has been bleeding out since Pandemic. Each time the trade show gets better and better. And Gamescom 2023 looks like it could be one of the best in a decade.

And Gamescom 2023 looks like it could be one of the best in a decade.

And since it’s far from clear to everyone when it takes place, when it starts, where it takes place and what games we’ll see, our idea — to summarize everything you need to know to keep an eye on this anticipated conference.

Location and date of Gamescom

The event will be held where it always is — in Cologne, Germany, at the end of August. The exhibition will remain in the same city and place as usual — it will be held at the Koelnmesse exhibition center, which has a capacity for thousands of people and hundreds of booths.

The dates for Gamescom — August 23 to 27, 2023. During the show, expect announcements, game presentations, and plenty of consoles and PCs set up around the grounds for players and journalists to try out new games.

At Gamescom, the exhibition is expected to feature a variety of games.

Games to watch out for at Gamescom

This is the most important part of the conference — the games. At Gamescom we should expect to see, as they are confirmed, all of these video games:

  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Alan Wake 2
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  • Black Myth Wukong
  • Sonic Superstars
  • Zenless Zone Zero
  • Mortal Kombat 1
  • Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

As you can see, the premiere event promises to be serious. 10 confirmed big games and many more to surprise. So the question is: will we see the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong?

How to follow the conference from home

This is the most important aspect. Following Gamescom will be, as it is every year, free and easy. The event will be streamed live on its YouTube and Twitch channels, much like E3 does. Here’s a link to the official YouTube channel where you can watch the conference through this very article, so you don’t get lost and accidentally watch last year’s broadcast.
