The best Call of Duty games: Part 1

Call of Duty is one of the most popular video game series in the world. The games in the series span various historical eras, including World War II, the Cold War, modern events, and even futuristic times.
Call of Duty is one of the most popular video game series in the world.
Although the Call of Duty series is one of the most famous and successful games in the world, the quality of each game can vary greatly. Some games are very good while others are mediocre. To help players decide which games are worth playing and which ones to skip, a ranking of all the major games in the series has been created that explains in detail why you should play a particular game or why you should skip it.
A ranking of all the major games in the series has been created.
Here’s the first part of the ranking of all the major Call of Duty games, from worst to best:
20. Call of Duty 3

The game was released by Treyarch in 2006, after a short development period, and was a sequel to the popular Call of Duty 2. Sales of the game were not as successful as its predecessor, despite the fact that the game was also released for the Xbox 360 platform, whose sales were growing exponentially at the time.
The game was released in 2006 after a short development period.
The game failed to achieve the success of its predecessor due to its insufficiently engaging multiplayer mode, which falls between the approaches of Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4. The campaign mode also failed to engage players due to a lack of interesting characters or mechanics. Overall, Call of Duty 3 can be considered one of the least successful games in the series and recommend it for a skip.

19. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Studio Infinity Ward had big plans for this project. Instead of the usual linear progression of missions, the game offered players to choose additional tasks to complete. The spaceship combat scenes were also well done. Despite the fact that the plot touches upon the theme of interplanetary travel, it is quite dark and not lacking in drama.
Many praised the visuals of the characters and the ability to choose additional quests to advance the story. However, players encountered problems with the shooting system, which had a lot of glitches that made the single-player mode feel like torture. The multiplayer mode also failed to please due to the poor map design. This only added to the frustration and disappointment with the game.
18. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Modern Warfare 3 was developed for the 20th anniversary of the famous franchise, but it suffered a setback and became one of the most failed games in the series’ history. The campaign turned out to be unconvincing, too often relying on nostalgic motifs. The developers skimped on the open combat missions, which were a single-player version of Warzone.
Some of the game’s gameplay was also lacking.
The campaign wasn’t original enough to keep the player engrossed. The multiplayer component of the game was okay, but it was the first time in COD history that the game didn’t feature a single original map. Instead, updated versions of maps from 2011’s MW3 were used.
The game’s original maps were used.
17. Call of Duty: Ghosts
.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was the first installment in the series to be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. It looked a lot like the previous games in the series, with its spaceships, cityscapes, and forested terrain. However, it lacked the flashy villain and interesting puzzles that characterize the Call of Duty games. Multiplayer also did not strike novelty, but was well developed. The sniper mode was impressive, although we have seen it all before.
16. Call of Duty: Black Ops III
.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Treyarch Studios doubled down on the futuristic aspects of the Black Ops series, marking the first time this approach has fallen short of expectations. Despite the AI-driven drones and new weapons, it felt like deja vu.
It seemed as if the studio itself didn’t believe in the script’s success, as it gave players the option to complete missions in any order they wanted. Unless, of course, you were playing on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles, which didn’t even have this mode.
15. Call of Duty

The original Call of Duty game is not associated with the series today, it stands apart. Developers at Infinity Ward Studios came from the team behind Medal of Honor and Electronic Arts, considered leaders in the military shooter genre.
Infinity Ward was quick to make a name for itself, however, with a campaign featuring military personnel from three different countries and a competitive multiplayer mode that laid the groundwork for the series’ future success. The appearance of Captain Pryce was a momentous occasion! Of course, it was a typical product of its time and, frankly, doesn’t look very good today.
14. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

After being involved in the development of Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games studio was given the opportunity to create its own project, a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare game in 2014. Gameplay utilizing exosuit and high-tech weaponry contributed to the game’s verticality and constant dynamism, making it challenging to master, yet addictive. Enemies could now appear not just to your left or right, but right above your head.
An enemy could now appear not just to your left or right, but right above your head.
The campaign plot in the techno-thriller Advanced Warfare centered on society’s growing fear of private military companies and the role they might play in society in the future. The whole thing was absurd, but Sledgehammer Studios is known for its ability to create blockbusters. The final part of the game was satisfying. Despite positive reviews from critics, Advanced Warfare did not gain popularity among players, so the continuation of this story is unlikely.
Advanced Warfare was a great success.
13. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 could very well be the final straw for the entire franchise. For the first time in the Black Ops series, the developers dropped the story mode and offered players only competitive multiplayer, a zombie mode and a “battle royal” called Blackout. Treyarch’s tactical approach to the storyline was lost, but they managed to create one of the best multiplayer game modes in the series and offer plenty of zombie-related content.
It was Blackout mode that was the game’s biggest highlight. It was the first attempt by the developers at Black Ops Studios to create a game in the battle royal genre, and it succeeded. The mode successfully combined the classic Call of Duty mechanics with the slow, methodical gameplay of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. It also added scenery from previous installments in the series and a section full of zombies ready to tear the player apart.
Some of the game’s best gameplay came with the addition of a new setting and a section full of zombies ready to tear the player apart.
12. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is worthy of attention, as it was the first game in the series to be released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S platforms. The game features a wide variety of multiplayer content and zombie mode options. The game features references to previous Black Ops games.
The game doesn’t benefit from being released on new platforms, however: its graphics look washed out and don’t reach the level of quality of previous games. This game is worth a try if you like Warzone (since both games use the same progression system), but in the end you’ll have to forget it.

11. Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard is an interesting installment in the series as it has a lot of features, especially in multiplayer. The game is set during World War II, which may be a drawback since the events of previous Call of Duty games often unfolded in the same era.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is an interesting episode in the series, as it has a lot of features, especially in multiplayer.
You can skip the single-player and zombie modes, but if you like multiplayer, you’ll probably like it — after the latest update. What makes Vanguard special is the level of customization: most weapons can be equipped with up to 10 additional modules. Most weapons can be equipped with up to 70 modules, allowing you to create unique weapons. While this can make the game a drag, experienced players will appreciate the number of options available.
