Honor GT 2: Display and chipset specs leaked

The Honor GT 2 series is generating a lot of interest even before the official announcement. A reputable Chinese insider Digital Chat Station has shared fresh details about the specs of the second-generation GT devices – including chipsets, displays, and battery capacity.
The series will include two models: the standard version and the Honor GT 2 Pro. According to leaks, the base variant is undergoing A/B testing with two different chips from Qualcomm: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (SM8750) and a new processor numbered SM8845.
Earlier on Weibo, the same insider described the SM8845 as the latest chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s N3P (3nm) process, with its own Oryon CPU architecture and 2+6 configuration (2 performance cores and 6 high-performance cores). Some of its components are the same as those of the SM8850 chip. In terms of performance, it is slightly inferior to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. There are speculations that the SM8845 will also appear in the upcoming Redmi K90.

As for the GT 2 Pro version, it has already been confirmed, according to DCS, with the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) chip expected to be released this September.
The two models will get 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution OLED displays with LTPS technology and a flat profile with 2.5D effect. The casing will be metal. For the GT 2 Pro, it’s also expected to introduce an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner – a first in the series, bringing the model closer to full flagships.
The GT 2 Pro will also feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner – a first in the series – making it closer to a full flagship.
Honor will continue to emphasize high autonomy. As a reminder, last year’s GT Pro model had a 7,200mAh battery. This year’s Pro version is rumored to get a battery of similar or even higher capacity, which, along with energy-efficient chips, promises excellent battery life on a single charge.
