Legendary fighting game Killer Instinct will become free on Steam
By ForGeeks Developers Iron Galaxy and Xbox Game Studios have announced that the base version of the fighting game Killer Instinct for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S is now free. The free version will offer access to single-player, local multiplayer, and ranked modes.
The free version will be available in single-player, local multiplayer, and ranked modes.
Players will only be able to compete in battles with one hero, which will change weekly. A paid version of the fighting game will need to be purchased to access all content. The Anniversary Edition will offer unlimited access to all fighters, premium content and VIP experience boosters, and holiday accessories.
The Anniversary Edition will be available for purchase.
All current versions of Killer Instinct will upgrade to Anniversary Edition for free, Definitive Edition will cease to exist. Previously purchased content will remain in users’ libraries, but you can’t buy your favorite fighter separately. Killer Instinct was released in November 2013 and has garnered over 3,700 reviews on Steam.
