Punkt has unveiled a rugged smartphone with a pay-as-you-go OS – MC02

Swedish company Punkt announced the release of its first smartphone — MC02, which features the unique ApostrophyOS operating system. The novelty guarantees users a high level of security and privacy. To use this operating system, a subscription is required.

ApostrophyOS also includes a built-in VPN service, a suite of native apps, and technology to monitor the carbon footprint of third-party programs based on measuring app power consumption. The built-in services work on a subscription model with a monthly subscription fee of 15 francs.
The Punkt MC02 smartphone features a 6.67-inch IPS screen with Full HD+ resolution. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card.
The device has a triple camera on the back: a 64 MP main module, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle module and a 2 MP macro module. The front camera offers a resolution of 24 MP.

The 5500mAh battery supports 18W wired and wireless charging. In addition to this, the device features NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Punkt MC02 costs 699 francs (71,100 rubles). That price also includes a one-year subscription to the ApostrophyOS operating system.
