AOC reveals pricing and release date for new OLED gaming monitor

AOC has confirmed the pricing and availability details for its new OLED gaming monitor. Following last month’s unveiling of the Q27G4ZDP/WS model in China, the company is now launching a similar version for the global market in black. Branded as the AOC Gaming Q27G4ZD, this new iteration differs from the Chinese model by opting out of the fourth-generation WOLED panel.

Instead, AOC has reverted to using a third-generation QD-OLED panel sourced from Samsung Display. As a result, the Q27G4ZD largely mirrors the specs found in many other 27-inch OLED gaming monitors. It sports a 2560 × 1440 resolution paired with a blistering 280 Hz refresh rate. HDR peak brightness reaches up to 1000 nits, although that maximum is only achievable on roughly 3% of the screen area at a time.

The monitor boasts an ultra-fast 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time and supports both Adaptive-Sync and Nvidia G-Sync technologies to eliminate screen tearing during gaming sessions. Its feature set also includes an ergonomic stand, a USB hub with four ports, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 connections, and a VESA 100 × 100 mount for compatibility with third-party stands.

According to AOC, the Q27G4ZD will hit shelves before the end of this month, carrying a price tag of $420.
