Dell launches two affordable 240Hz gaming monitors

Dell has unveiled two budget-friendly gaming monitors designed for gamers who prioritize high refresh rates without shelling out for premium models. The new SE2726HGS and SE2726HG share nearly identical specs, differing mainly in their stand designs. The HGS model offers height adjustment, swivel, and tilt, while the HG version comes with a simpler stand that only supports tilt.

Both monitors sport 27-inch IPS panels with a 1920 × 1080 resolution and a blazing 240Hz refresh rate. AMD FreeSync Premium support helps eliminate screen tearing, and both displays feature HDR support and variable refresh rates over HDMI. Response times measure 5ms GTG in standard mode and can drop to an aggressive 0.5ms GTG in extreme mode. Panel brightness tops out at 300 nits, contrast ratio is rated at 1000:1, and viewing angles reach 178 degrees. They cover 99% of the sRGB color gamut and can display 16.7 million colors.

Dell has also focused on eye comfort. Both monitors come equipped with blue light reduction technology, flicker-free backlights, anti-glare coatings, and a 3H hardness-rated surface. Both models have received a 3-star eye comfort certification.

Connectivity is identical on both versions: two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort 1.4, supporting 1080p at 240Hz output. They include HDCP support and are compatible with Windows and macOS. The SE2726HGS comes bundled with a standard HDMI cable, while the SE2726HG includes an HDMI 2.0 cable. Both monitors also support VESA 100 × 100 mounting.

Power consumption averages around 19.7 watts during typical use, reaching up to 40 watts at peak. Although the dimensions of both models are almost the same, the HGS version is heavier due to its more versatile stand.

The suggested retail price is $170 for the SE2726HGS and $140 for the SE2726HG.
