The Sinking City 2 has been pushed back to 2026

Frogwares Studios has announced that the release of Lovecraftian-style horror The Sinking City 2 has been postponed. The release was planned for the end of 2025, but due to the current world situation, the team decided to postpone the premiere until a more favorable period, tentatively to the first half of 2026, provided there are no further difficulties.

The developers attribute the delay not only to technical and organizational difficulties, but also to a change of genre. The Sinking City 2 will be their first full-fledged horror with survival elements, unlike previous projects such as Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, which were detectives with minor action elements. The developers are committed to maximizing quality, which takes extra time.

In conjunction with the news of the postponement, the studio has released some new screenshots. Many of them visually echo the Resident Evil and Silent Hill remakes, both in terms of camera angles and in the design of interface elements, including the map.

Remember that the first The Sinking City was released in 2019. The game was met with a fairly low-key reception by critics, but gained popularity among players. After the release, Frogwares terminated its relationship with publisher Nacon and regained full intellectual property rights.
