Electronic Arts has no plans to raise game prices

Electronic Arts said it has no plans to increase the price of its games, despite the trend among major publishers. The company made the announcement during its conference call for the fourth quarter and all of fiscal 2025.
The key is value for players
When asked about “pricing” and possible changes in strategy similar to moves made by other companies, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said the company is primarily focused on player satisfaction and the sense of value received.
“Ten years ago, our whole business was built around selling CDs in boxes on store shelves. Now it’s just a small part of it,” Wilson emphasized.”We have offerings ranging from free-to-play to Deluxe editions, and regardless of the price – $1, $10 or $100 – we strive to provide maximum quality and value.”
No change in pricing strategy
E EA’s CFO also confirmed that “no changes to the current game pricing strategy are reflected in the current pricing strategy.”
At the backdrop of price hikes from competitors
Nintendo previously caused a stir by announcing an $80 price for Mario Kart World for the upcoming Switch 2 console, with Donkey Kong Bananza also going up to $70. Last week, Microsoft announced a price hike for Xbox consoles, and said that some exclusives, including possibly a new Call of Duty, will be priced at $80.
