Samsung acquires premium audio company Bowers & Wilkins

Samsung Electronics has officially confirmed that its subsidiary Harman International has signed a contract to buy the audio division of Masimo, which owns premium brands such as Denon, Bowers & Wilkins and Polk Audio.
The deal is in the U.S. and is valued at $350 million in cash. As a result, Harman will gain control of the following audio firms:

These brands are well-known in the world of premium audio equipment. For example, Bowers & Wilkins, founded in 1966 in England, is famous for headphones, home theater and luxury speakers. Its Nautilus speakers cost more than $100,000 and are considered among the most beautiful in audio history.
Denon is one of the oldest brands in the industry (115 years), specializing in AV receivers, turntables, speakers and network players. Marantz is known for its amplifiers and high-end home audio products.
With this acquisition, Samsung intends to strengthen the audio capabilities of its smartphones, TVs, soundbars and headphones. It is also expected that more devices from Harman’s new ecosystem will gain compatibility with the SmartThings platform.
