Vivo X200s: new details and launch date declassified

Vivo is preparing to unveil the Vivo X200s as early as April 21 in China. While the new product is positioned as a moderate update to last year’s X200, in fact it will get a lot of notable improvements. Today, the brand has officially confirmed that the device will feature a larger battery and support for wireless charging.
Vivo X200s will be the next smartphone based on the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, following the Oppo Find X8s and X8 Plus, which debuted today. According to the official poster, the X200s will get a 6200 mAh battery.

Despite the impressive battery, the body will be just 7.99mm thick thanks to the use of a third-generation silicon-carbon-based anode battery. In addition to 90W wired charging, the X200s also supports 40W wireless charging – a rarity for flat-screen flagships. By comparison, the X200 offered a 5,700 mAh battery with the same wired charging, but without the wireless option.

Vivo previously confirmed that the X200s will feature a 6.67-inch BOE Q10 flat-screen display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and PWM dimming at 2160Hz for eye protection. The device will also feature a new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that works even with wet fingers. The sensor will be positioned lower than before for more convenience when unlocking.
One of the key features of the X200s will be deep integration with Apple’s ecosystem. The smartphone will be able to display notifications from the iPhone, provide app continuity between devices, and let you transfer files with a simple tap.

When it comes to cameras, expect a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle module and a 50-megapixel LYT-600 periscopic telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. All three modules will be coated with Zeiss T* enlightening glass to reduce glare and improve image sharpness. The cameras promise high quality both day and night.
