iOS 17: How to install the developer beta

You can download the latest beta versions of iOS 17 for free to developers – at your own risk, of course.
;Here’s how to install the beta software on your iPhone or iPad as soon as it becomes availablefor your device.
Installing iOS 17 beta
Apple has made it easier than ever to install the iOS beta for developers. First, make sure your device is running iOS 16.4 or later (by running Settings> General> About This Device). If not, update your software by going to Settings> General> Software Update and downloading the latest version of iOS 16.
When it’s done:
- Go to the Apple Software Beta Testing Portal in your device’s Safari browser and sign up with the primary Apple ID you use on your device. If you previously registered, you can sign in and select Start.
- If you’re logging in for the first time, you must register your Apple ID for the Apple Software Beta program. This involves agreeing to a detailed set of terms and conditions. Did we mention that you did this at your own risk?
Not Required: If you want more information about the beta program, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page to see Apple’s information about submitting feedback. Under Start Up you can select Register Your iOS Device and you’ll be reminded to back up everything on your Mac in case you need to go back to your previous state.
