London-based startup Gendo has announced it has raised €5.1 million amid growing demand for its software designed specifically for architects.

What is Gendo?

Founded in 2022 by architect George Prude and software engineer Will Jones, Gendo provides a tool that transforms:

  • In photorealistic construction designs.

.

The platform is similar to MidJourney or DALL-E, but customized for architectural tasks. Users can precisely edit details such as:

  • Colors,
  • Lighting,
  • Structural elements,
  • Furniture.

Gendo stands out with more realistic results than generic AI models.

Benefits of Gendo

  • Speed: Generate visualizations 100 times faster than traditional programs.
  • Affordable price: A mid-tier subscription is £15 per month.

.

Market Success

The platform was launched four months ago, after Gendo raised €1 million in pre-seed funding.
The first users include leading architectural firms:

  • Zaha Hadid Architects,
  • KPF,
  • David Chipperfield Architects,
  • Benoy.

According to Patrick Schumacher, principal of Zaha Hadid Architects and a new member of Gendo’s board of directors, the tool represents a “breakthrough in architecture.”

Future Plans

The funds raised will be used to:

  • Deepening AI capabilities,
  • Developing customized workflows,
  • Licensed models for large design firms.

Investors

The round was led by German funds PT1 and LEA Partners, as well as UK-based Concept Ventures and London-based Koro Capital.

Gendo makes professional design accessible by bridging the gap between simple visualization tools and complex programs such as Autodesk Forma.
