Apple starts iPhone 17 development in India

According to The Information, a prototype of this model has already passed the initial development stage. Apple is evaluating whether Indian engineers can build iPhone prototypes that match the quality of those being developed at the company’s headquarters in California.

Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Poo suggests that the base model iPhone 17 will get a 6.1-inch display, an A19 chip, 8GB of RAM and an improved 24-megapixel front-facing camera. The main camera will be dual: a 48-megapixel Fusion and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The body will remain aluminum.

Development of the more advanced models — the ultra-thin iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max — will still take place in China. These devices are expected to get more significant improvements, including a 48-megapixel telephoto camera and 12GB of RAM in the Pro versions.
