Patriot Memory has released a high-speed turbine-cooled SSD – Viper PV553
By ForGeeks Patriot Memory has unveiled a new SSD that stands out from the crowd for its ingenious design, high speed and long life.
The Viper PV553 model has an active cooling system that operates autonomously. The device is encased in a multi-layer enclosure, with a fan and radiator at the top and an aluminum casing at the bottom. The thickness of the drive is only 16.5 mm. In its claims, the manufacturer claims that the use of a high-speed fan can improve SSD cooling efficiency by 40% compared to other solutions on the market.
The new Viper PV553 is based on 232-layer Micron 3D TLC NAND memory and supports PCIe Gen 5 x4 (NVMe 2.0). This drive can achieve read and write speeds of up to 12,400MB/s and 11,800MB/s respectively. It features an internal temperature sensor that enables the cooling system to operate automatically without the need for third-party software.
One of the features of this drive is automatic error correction and load balancing technology to evenly wear out memory cells. The manufacturer also offers a five-year factory warranty on the Viper PV553.
The new product is available in three versions: 1TB, 2TB and 4TB, with 700TB, 1400TB and 3000TB rewrite capacities respectively. A launch date and pricing will be announced at a later date.
