Ugreen 100W DigiNest Pro Review: 100W USB-C Extender with USB-C

I’ve been taking an extension cord with me when I travel for a few years now. Usually hotels and apartments don’t have enough outlets. But it turns out it’s much more convenient to have an extension cord that not only has outlet sockets, but also USB and USB-C. The Ugreen 100W DigiNest Pro turned out to be a great option. I’ll tell you more about it in a bit.
Ugreen’s 100W DigiNest Pro effectively positions itself as a top-tier charging hub. Featuring four ports with a total power potential of 100W and two AC outlets, it’s a really cool solution.
The DigiNest Pro from Ugreen is a really cool solution.

Ugreen has undoubtedly cemented itself as my favorite charging solution provider, and that opinion is borne out by its accomplishments. From the impressive Nexode 200W, capable of delivering 200W through six USB ports, to the versatile 13-in-1 dock that boasts an SD card slot, USB-C and USB-A ports, and even the ability to power laptops up to 100W through USB PD. Their range of GaN chargers, which includes the 100W and 65W Nexode models, is consistently cool, and the latest addition to the lineup, the DigiNest Pro, solidifies that status.
The DigiNest Pro is the latest addition to the lineup.

DigiNest Pro, a USB-C charging hub, features three USB-C ports and one USB-A port, all working with a powerful 100W adapter inside. The DigiNest Pro also features two outlets on the other side. So you can charge two laptops, a couple iPhones and still have two slots left.

I really don’t like to use different adapters for different devices, lest I clutter up my desk and take up outlets. So, the DigiNest Pro skillfully solves this problem by offering universal connectivity options. Of particular note is the self-contained power distribution between AC outlets. Impressively, each port is capable of providing up to 1875 watts of power. This feature means that you can even connect a gaming computer with GeForce RTX 4080 through this hub. The wiring, by the way, is decent too, with a sturdy, dense 1.5-meter cable that’s built to withstand such loads.

The Ugreen DigiNest Pro can be placed on a table or directly on the floor, whichever you prefer. However, there is a nuance with MacBook chargers. Since Apple decided to integrate the plug right into the power supply, this will overpower the DigiNest Pro and it will essentially lay on top of your MacBook adapter.

The Ugreen DigiNest Pro turns on and off with a single black button. If you leave the house and need to unplug all your devices, this is very convenient.

The integration of AC outlets certainly elevates the DigiNest Pro’s status as an exemplary charging hub. Over the past month, I’ve plugged everything from a MacBook Pro with an M1 Max, various smartphones, a vacuum cleaner, and other devices into the DigiNest Pro. All of them worked without any problems.

The presence of outlets distracts my attention from the DigiNest Pro’s main distinguishing feature — the ports located on the front panel. Notably, two of the three USB-C ports, labeled USB-C1 and USB-C2, are capable of delivering 100 watts of USB PD power. The third USB-C port supports up to 22.5 watts of power, similar to that of a USB-A port.

In scenarios where USB-C1 and USB-C2 ports are engaged simultaneously, the power distribution is reconfigured to 65W for the former and 30W for the latter. This configuration is enough to charge two smartphones at the same time. When all four ports are used simultaneously, the total power is 96W. At the same time, 45 watts are attributed to USB-C1, 30 watts — to USB-C2, 10.5 watts — to USB-C3 and 10.5 watts — to USB-A. A helpful chart clearly illustrates these promising usage scenarios.
See the chart below.

To evaluate the effectiveness of the 100W USB-C ports, the experiment utilized a MacBook Pro connection (it has a native 96W adapter), which clearly demonstrated the DigiNest Pro’s decent performance. In addition, devices such as the iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPad Pro, as well as various accessories including AirPods Pro, were quietly charged in parallel, getting the claimed charging speed without any consequences.

Separately, the Ugreen DigiNest didn’t get very hot even with a maximum of 6 devices connected. Yes, it was slightly hotter than the average room temperature, but not critically so, as is sometimes the case with powerful adapters.

Ugreen DigiNest Pro 100W
With 100W of power, 4 USB ports including one USB-A, PD support, and the availability of two regular 220V outlets, the DigiNest Pro is practically perfect for both home and travel. This charging station meets all the necessary requirements and will come in handy for anyone who needs to charge laptops and smartphones (i.e. everyone). The DigiNest Pro costs about 8,490 rubles, which is a fair price for a device that will shut down your need for outlets for the next few years.
