Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini could debut in December

The Vivo S50 series, which has been heavily rumored in recent weeks, has received a new update on its release date. According to a well-known Digital Chat Station insider on Weibo, the new products will not be unveiled in November as previously expected. Instead, Vivo is preparing to unveil the S50 series in December, which clarifies the company’s internal schedule.

Another rumor has been circulating that Vivo is preparing to unveil the S50 series in December.

According to the source, the series will include two models — the standard Vivo S50 and the smaller Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The advertising campaign will begin as early as the end of November, indicating that the devices are about to be actively promoted.

The Vivo S50 is expected to get a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and will supposedly support 90W fast charging. It’s also reported to have a periscopic telecamera, which is unusual for mid-range models.

The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is positioned as a smaller, but still capable version. It’s rumored to feature a 6.31-inch OLED display with the same specs (1.5K and 120Hz) and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. The battery of this model should be even bigger than the Vivo X300 with its 6040 mAh capacity and also support 90W charging. The main camera will also get a flagship-grade periscopic module.

Rumor has it that the Vivo S50 series may be released outside of China under other names. For example, the Vivo S50 could appear on the global market as the Vivo V70, and the Pro Mini version — as the Vivo X300.
