Samsung XR: everything we know about the company’s upcoming headset

The first Samsung XR headset, which is currently codenamed Project Mohan, has already been shown off by the company several times, but its release has not been confirmed until now. A new report out of Korea claims that the company has already set a date for its unveiling: September 29.
After the presentation, on October 13, it will become available for purchase first in Korea. After the domestic market, the device will gradually start rolling out to other regions as well.
After the launch, it will be available for purchase first in Korea on October 13.

This will be the first headset to use Android XR, which, as the name suggests, is a version of Android created specifically for such headsets. Android XR itself was first introduced last year and is being developed jointly by Google and Samsung.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that Android XR will include Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence. Samsung’s headset uses the Qualcomm XR + Gen 2 chipset, which is apparently manufactured by the company using a 4nm process.
Before the full reveal, the Samsung XR headset will be unveiled again at next month’s Unpacked event, where the company will presumably reveal the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7.
