Samsung may reintroduce manual heat control settings in One UI 7

The new version of One UI 7 for Samsung Galaxy smartphones may include a hidden option to completely disable thermal trotting, according to insider Chuvn888888. This option will be available in the Developer Preferences menu, a section with advanced settings that are usually not meant for regular users as they can lead to undesirable consequences.

The thermal trotting slows down the processor when the device’s temperature reaches a certain level, preventing overheating and protecting components. Samsung had already undertaken a similar experiment in One UI 6, when the option to disable trotting was available through a third-party app with access to the Samsung Device Health Manager Service. However, the company soon removed this option, showing a cautious approach to giving users the ability to bypass the protection mechanisms.
