Exclusive BMW 4-Series from the founders of Alpina and Zagato unveiled

Brothers Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen, owners of the Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen brand, have introduced a new brand, Bovensiepen Automobile. From January 1, 2026 Alpina will become a luxury sub-brand of BMW, but the founders of the tuning studio do not intend to leave the car business. Their first project was created in collaboration with the Zagato design studio and is based on the BMW 4-Series.
The Bovensiepen cars will be produced in Buchloe, but they are no longer formally associated with BMW. The design is completely devoid of branding: the Alpina logos have disappeared and the car’s look has been radically redesigned – a credit to Zagato’s craftsmen. Nevertheless, the Alpina references remain: the signature font on the bumper, the color palette of the labels and the multi-spoke wheels with a unique design.

Modifying all bodywork and optics would not be cheap, so Bovensiepen is positioning its cars in a higher price category – the luxury segment. Despite external changes, the profile of BMW 4-Series coupe is recognizable. The interior has been changed minimally: new trim materials, decorative elements and a visor on the front panel are used.
Interestingly, Bovensiepen used a BMW 4-Series convertible to create the coupe. This allowed them to do away with the center roof pillars and retain the rear window lifters. The new body panels are made of carbon fiber, and aerodynamic dodging has increased the length of the car by 17.5 centimeters.

Beneath the hood is a 3.0-liter gasoline engine boosted to 611 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It’s even better than the top-of-the-range M-series models. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes only 3.3 seconds, top speed – 300 km/h. Curb weight remains at 1,895 kilograms.
The BMW M440i version is expected to form the basis of the project, but there is no official confirmation of this. Pricing and circulation will be announced by the end of 2025, with deliveries of exclusive Bovensiepen Zagato cars to begin in spring 2026.
