Nvidia and Hewlett Packard Enterprise announce plans to build a supercomputer

The project, dubbed Blue Lion, is scheduled to launch in early 2027 and will feature Nvidia’s «Vera Rubin» chips, allowing scientists to conduct large-scale computational research.

On the same day, Nvidia announced that Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the US also plans to implement systems based on the chips next year. This approach combines classical physics with AI capabilities to simulate turbulent atmospheric flows and analyze multiple scenarios at high granularity.

Nvidia’s head of data center product marketing Dion Harris said, «This method will allow researchers to analyze thousands of scenarios with greater accuracy and speed than ever before».
