Lego unveiled the most expensive set in history – the $1000 Death Star

The Lego Company has announced a new Star Wars-themed construction set. The Death Star will be the most expensive set in the brand’s history, priced at $999.99. Sales will start on October 4, 2025.
What’s known about the kit
The kit will include over 9,000 parts. When assembled, the Death Star will reach 70 centimeters tall and 80 centimeters wide. The set includes 38 minifigures of characters from the universe.

The constructor is in the format of a section of a space station. Inside, there are separate sectors where you can recreate key scenes from the movies. These include:
- Princess Leia’s imprisonment chamber,
- Emperor Palpatine’s throne room,
- the hangar control center with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Lego’s most expensive set to date
The record was previously held by the Millennium Falcon, released in 2017. It had 7,400 pieces and cost $850 at launch. The new set is not only more expensive, but also larger in scale.
