Honda Afeela will be the world’s first with PlayStation Remote Play support
The joint automotive venture between Sony and Honda — Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) — has announced that the Afeela electric car will be the world’s first vehicle to support PS Remote Play.
PS Remote Play lets you remotely stream games from PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. In Afeela’s case, the feature will be used as part of the car’s on-board multimedia system.
Users will be able to connect to their PS5 or PS4 and control games through the car’s interface using Afeela’s IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system. Passengers will be able to play while driving or parked, while the driver will only be able to access the game when the car is parked.
The SHM press release notes that PS Remote Play requires an Internet connection of at least 5 Mbps, but that speeds of 15 Mbps or higher are recommended for a stable and comfortable gameplay experience.
The first production Afeela was officially unveiled at CES 2025 in January, exactly one year after its initial announcement.
