According to the new report, Google is working on adding support for screen casting to Android Auto.
The Android Automotive operating system, which is pre-installed by some automakers, already supports broadcasting, so adding a similar feature to Android Auto seems like a logical step. Android Auto works in conjunction with a smartphone, unlike Android Automotive, which is a full-fledged car OS.

The new feature was discovered in the Android Auto 15.9.655104 beta build. Lines directly related to Google Cast were found in the code of this build, indicating active development of the feature.
In addition, Google is preparing a redesigned Android Auto media player. The interface will be redesigned with more elements of the company’s Material 3 Expressive visual language, which should make media management more modern and visual.

It’s not yet known when exactly broadcast support and the updated media player will be available to all users. Google isn’t revealing a release date, but judging by the appearance of these changes in the beta, the official launch could be in one of the upcoming updates.
