According to a leak from a well-known Digital Chat Station insider, Xiaomi is developing a device with impressive battery and charging capabilities. The new product will get a dual-cell battery with a total capacity of 5,900 mAh, which is equivalent to the huge 12,000 mAh battery in the single-cell variant.

A future premium tablet model?

Although the exact name of the device has not yet been confirmed, it is believed to be a new Xiaomi tablet. Early rumors pointed to a possible OLED tablet release in 2025 with an 11-inch display, 144Hz refresh rate, top-of-the-line Snapdragon processor, up to 24GB of RAM, and 120W charging support.

The design of the alleged tablet could resemble the Xiaomi Pad 6 series. According to the source, the device won’t be part of the Redmi lineup and is aimed at the premium segment, with an expected price of around 4,000 yuan (roughly $548). By comparison, the top-of-the-line version of the current Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro (12GB + 512GB) costs 3,499 yuan ($479), hinting at a higher price point and competition with the iPad.

What’s already known about the Pad 7 series

Xiaomi unveiled the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro in October 2024 alongside the Xiaomi 15 smartphone series. Both tablets feature an 11.2-inch 3K LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, anti-reflective coating and a paper-like texture for easy stylus use.
