Google introduced the Pixel Tablet with a docking station

Today at its annual I/O developer conference, Google took a short break from constantly saying the word “AI” to introduce new hardware. And, as we expected, the Pixel Tablet is now officially unveiled. First teased last year, it’s definitely been a long time coming.

Google Pixel Tablet features a 10.95-inch LCD screen with 2560×1600 resolution and a typical brightness of 500 nits, “anti-spot coating” and support for USI 2.0 stylus. It runs on the Tensor G2 chipset and features the Titan M2 security co-processor. You get 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The tablet features a pair of seemingly identical 8-megapixel fixed-focus cameras, one on the front and one on the back. A fingerprint sensor is built into the power button, and the 27-watt-hour battery should last up to 12 hours of streaming video. The Pixel Tablet runs Android 13 and will receive updates for five years. It has four speakers and three microphones and will be available in Porcelain, Hazel and Rose colors.

In the box you’ll find the tablet and dock to charge the speaker, as well as a power supply for the dock. It has a magnetic docking interface with pogo pins and a maximum charging rate of 15 watts. Inside is a single full-range speaker with a diameter of 43.5 mm.

The idea is that when you’re not actively using the tablet, it can become a smart display or a smart speaker with an attached display.

Google Pixel Tablet costs $499.
