Black Shark preps compact gaming tablet with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for global launch
Black Shark, Xiaomi’s gaming sub-brand, is gearing up to launch a new gaming tablet on the global market. The straightforwardly named Black Shark Gaming Tablet was initially teased late last year and has now appeared on the company’s international website with a full rundown of its key specs and features.
The Black Shark Gaming Tablet sports a compact 8.8-inch display. It weighs just 332 grams and measures 7.7 mm thick. Its chassis is crafted from aviation-grade aluminum alloy with precise laser-etched detailing. The device will be available in black and silver finishes.

Under the hood, it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU clocked up to 3.0 GHz and a neural processor delivering 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second). According to Black Shark, the tablet scores over 1.9 million points on AnTuTu benchmarks. It runs Android 16 out of the box and packs 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM along with 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Plus, there’s support for expandable storage via a TF card slot accommodating up to 2 TB.
The screen flaunts a 2.5K resolution (2560 × 1600 pixels) with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Pixel density hits 343 PPI, and the display reaches a peak brightness of 600 nits. It covers the DCI-P3 color gamut and comes factory-calibrated with a color accuracy of ΔE < 1.
Cooling is handled by a large vapor chamber combined with multiple layers of graphene and a metal heat dissipation system, delivering a total heat dissipation area of 25,176 mm². For gamers seeking extra thermal management, Black Shark offers an optional magnetic cooler accessory to keep temperatures in check during intense sessions.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.4, and DisplayPort output supporting 4K video. Sound comes from symmetrical stereo speakers enhanced with Black Shark’s K9 smart amplifier technology.
The tablet packs a 7,300 mAh battery. Black Shark claims it can deliver up to 5.6 hours of gaming, 10.3 hours of web browsing, 7 hours of video playback, and up to 76 hours of music streaming. Photography-wise, the tablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video calls and selfies.
Its appearance on Black Shark’s global website signals an imminent official international announcement, bringing this sleek gaming tablet to the worldwide stage soon.
