Xiaomi launches budget Redmi G25 gaming monitor with 200Hz refresh rate starting at $88
Xiaomi has expanded its Redmi gaming monitor lineup in China with the new 24.5-inch G25 model, positioned between the previously released Redmi G24 and G27. Targeting esports enthusiasts, the monitor delivers a high refresh rate at an incredibly affordable price.
The G25 features an IPS panel with a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate of 200Hz-the same as the larger G27 model. Xiaomi claims a 1ms (GtG) response time to minimize input lag, while viewing angles stick to the typical IPS norm of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically.
On the color front, the Redmi G25 offers peak brightness of 400 nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with 8-bit color depth. For smoother gameplay, it supports adaptive sync technology, likely compatible with AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible. Eye care features include TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light and DC Dimming to cut screen flicker.
Design-wise, the monitor comes with a basic stand that offers tilt adjustment, plus a VESA 100×100 mm mount for attaching to arms or wall brackets. Connectivity options are minimal: one DisplayPort 1.4, a single HDMI (probably 2.0), and a 3.5mm audio out. There are no built-in speakers or USB ports, typical of budget-focused gaming displays.
Priced at 609 yuan (roughly $88) in China, Xiaomi hasn’t announced a global launch yet. However, given Redmi’s track record with international releases, a wider rollout seems likely in the coming months. Alongside the debut of flagship curved models like the G Pro 27Qi and G34WQi, the Redmi G25 strengthens Xiaomi’s foothold in the affordable gaming monitor segment, going head-to-head with rivals like the AOC 24G2SP, ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A, and budget offerings from Acer and Dell.
