Telegram now has a “Digest” bot that saves you time on the news

A new Telegram bot created by a Russian team of developers offers users a quick and convenient way to keep up with the news, spending five times less time. The service, called Digest, automatically collects and recycles content from different channels, turning the stream of information into concise, personalized summaries.
Digest combines algorithms based on domestic and foreign neural networks, as well as its own language model. The bot doesn’t just categorize the news, it cleans it from advertising, repetition, and minor details, leaving only the most important. As a result, users get concise and to the point content that is available almost immediately after the original material is published.

- Instantly receive short versions of news stories;
- The ability to customize a personalized release to a specific time;
- Thematic filtering by interests;
- Subscribe from multiple channels in favor of one convenient source.
According to Kirill Stepanenko, the founder of the project, the idea of the Digest came from the desire to get rid of news overload and focus on the main things:
“We were having a hard time navigating the flow of information ourselves. We decided to make a tool that will help not only us, but also those who work professionally with news – journalists, editors, authors, PR people, traders.”
The developers plan to develop the bot’s functionality: in the coming updates, there will be the ability to search for mentions and posts across Telegram, as well as tools for different professional groups. You can try the “Digest” bot at this link.
According to data previously announced by Pavel Durov, the average user opens Telegram 21 times a day and spends about 41 minutes in the app. Using Digest can significantly reduce that time – without sacrificing awareness.
