Xiaomi announced foldable Mix Flip 2: first details and release date

In a recent post on Weibo, she said that President Lu Weibin has dialogued with fans of compact foldable devices to better understand their expectations. While Xiaomi has no plans to release a successor to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 this year, the Mix Flip 2 is expected to go on sale as early as the end of the month.

According to the latest details, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 features a 6.85-inch internal foldable OLED display with a resolution of around 1,500 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and packs a 5,100mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
When it comes to durability, the smartphone is IPX8 waterproof. When folded, it is only 7.6mm thick and weighs around 190 grams, making it thinner and lighter than the first-generation MIX Flip.
A feature of the MIX Flip series has always been the functional display on the lid. Xiaomi will apparently keep the large 4-inch external display and further optimize it with HyperOS 2.0. The design of the outer display has reportedly been redesigned, with a separate section for quick app launches, while the rest of the screen remains available to display additional content.
For photography, the Mix Flip 2 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support and an ultra-wide-angle lens also at 50 megapixels. Expected features include an IR blaster, NFC and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
