Vivo X Fold 5 will get the biggest battery among all foldable smartphones

Vivo has revealed the key features of its new foldable flagship Vivo X Fold 5, which will premiere on June 25 in China. The manufacturer has published official images of the device, as well as a promotional poster confirming all the key specs.

The smartphone has already attracted attention thanks to its light weight, record-breaking battery and unexpected compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem.

Vivo’s lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone

According to Vivo product president Huang Tao, the X Fold 5 will break the record of the previous X Fold 3 model, which weighed 219 grams. The new product will reportedly weigh just 209 grams. It will also be one of the thinnest foldable devices ever, with a thickness of 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded.

Record-breaking battery with new technologies

X Fold 5 will get a 6,000 mAh battery, which is the largest battery installed in a foldable smartphone. It’s made using Blue Ocean technology with a fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode. The silicon content in the composition is up to 12%. It’s also the first Vivo smartphone to feature a second-generation semi-solid electrolyte battery that can operate even at -30°C.

Enhanced protection and reliability

The smartphone is water-resistant to IPX8 and IPX9 standards, and dust-resistant to IP5X. The device can function in temperatures as low as -20°C, making it one of the most resilient and «all-weather» foldable smartphones on the market.

Advanced Photo Capabilities

For mobile photography enthusiasts, the X Fold 5 offers a unique periscopic telephoto lens that lets you capture long-range zoom and macro shots. The camera also supports portrait shooting with a full focus range.
