Vivo released Y78 with Dimensity 7020
Vivo introduced the Y78+ last month with the Snapdragon 695, and today the company released a regular model based on the Dimensity 7020 chip.
Another notable difference between the vivo Y78 and Y78+ is that the former is built around a 6.64-inch FullHD+ 120Hz LCD display with a fingerprint scanner on the power button, while the latter features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED FullHD+ 120Hz display with a fingerprint scanner underneath it for biometric authentication.
In addition, while both smartphones feature 5,000mAh batteries with 44W wired charging, the vivo Y78 is actually thicker and heavier (190g versus 177g) than the Plus version. Also worth mentioning is that the 50-megapixel primary camera on the Y78+ has optical image stabilization, which the Y78’s 50-megapixel camera does not. Despite this, the main camera on both smartphones is joined by 2-megapixel depth sensors, while the front-facing selfie camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor.
The Vivo Y78, like the Y78+, runs OriginOS 3 powered by Android 13. It also features a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and has Bluetooth 5.3 instead of 5.1 connectivity.
The Vivo Y78+ has a Bluetooth 5.3 instead of 5.1.
Vivo Y78 is available in three colors and three memory configurations – 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB – priced at $200, $245 and $290 respectively.
